The extension involved the design of a two-storey building of 500m2 floor area, comprised of six teaching spaces/workshops, for 30 students each, and redesign of the adjacent existing building to create new educational complex. The new extension fulfilled all specifications of school buildings, as approved by the EOPPEP and introduced a new entrance with a two storey foyer to improve student circulation and create amiable space for the students to use. The new building introduced a high performance thermal envelope and a natural ventilation strategy along with mechanically aided indoor air treatment as required by the regulations.

The existing Massachusetts Hall, a building dating from the 60's was redesigned to undergo a total renovation. With respect to the building's scale and its place as part of an important historical complex in the American Farm School, the renovation proposal included upgrading of the building's thermal performance and a complete facade makeover to introduce a new architectural identity for the historic Massachusetts Hall high school building.

The entry involved landscaping of the surrounding area and proposed a slightly elevated wooden deck in front of the main Massachusetts Hall entrance to act as a focal point for student social interaction.
